Cast iron baseboard does do extremely well on a hot water system. It is not specifically designed for a steam system due to a 3/4" taping. When cast iron baseboard is installed in a steam system it should be limited to 10 FT. and piped two pipe for best operation. Should drop about a half inch towards the return side for condensate removal. If you are going to pipe the baseboard as two pipe you will need a vent or trap on the return side of the baseboard depending on your choice of piping. See our webpage for more information.
